Springing Forward

Dusk is sexy.

So is dressing for it.

With my evenings being deliciously drawn out, the sunsets seem longer and I've been loving it.  It's been a warm few days so before diving into shorts and minis, I am warming up my hibernating body with a scant duo of a lace bra and draping tank first.

I also thought I'd give my curls a break from the heat tools for a few days.  Rocking my mama wash-and-go fro is always so simple and fun.  It's free and wild and reminds me of Summer and long nights...

tank: FIDM / bra top: Free People / denim: AllSaints / heels: Zara

But on to my boyfriend denim, I've worn these.with.everything.  My Tiny Closet and I have had a ball with this one amazing article of clothing.

"How do I love dressing thee, AllSaints Men jeans?
Let me count the ways...."

So far, 8 very eclectic ways :)  I don't need a lot of denim in my life.  Just the right denim I suppose.  Such is the Tiny mantra... but you probably already know that :)

Swim Style Mix & Match: Part I

Getting ready for the festivities of July, I have been collecting swimwear for the past couple months.  Here and there :)

I actually don't like swimsuits.  It's very challenging to find suits or pieces that flatter my particular shape and the ones that take my breath away also leave me gasping for air at the price.  Every.single.year.  I wrestle with the choice of either investing in a truly fabulous, amazeballs swimsuit that puts my monthly student loan payment to shame and I can wear it for a few years - OR - I just go to Target and pick up the latest flavor for $20 and call it a Summer...

Decisions, decisions...

This year, I didn't choose either.  Instead I thrifted, mixed and matched and thought outside the box.  I realize since I don't really swim anyway, and much prefer lounging and looking good, I decided to get more creative with my options.  Especially since these days, I am naturally finding myself more poolside than I have in my entire life.

So here's Part One of my swimsuit chronicles:

bandeau and half of a one-piece...

bra top: F&F (Heavenly Couture) / one piece: thrifted / necklace: Swarovski

I tied the straps of this thrifted one piece around my waist.  Pulled on my trusty bra top and draped over a simple necklace.  I've always loved the sleek vogue-esque stylings of post swimming fun: the textured wet hair pulled back in a bun or parted down the middle.  I attempted this look but with suuuuper curly hair, it didn't turn out as sleek as I'd hoped.  Pool water might as well be nail polish remover when it comes to my hair.  So drying!

Anyway, I've been loving my new after-work ritual of scampering up to the roof top and going for a quick swim.  Even though the sun beats down on our pool all day, the water is still freezing (I don't get the science of that at all) but I jump in anyway.  It's a great way to just woooosh the stress of the day right out!  I guess the temperature changes are really relaxing because for the rest of the day, I feel as light as a feather.

Come back later this week for Part II!!

Staying In, to Stepping Out

I've been focusing inward lately.  Like on my new home, specifically :)  Focusing on decor, colors, fabrics, new furniture, whoooo!  My head is spinning with inspiration!

So Thursday, I took a break from going out and stayed in to marinate in all my ideas.  And possibly watch Goonies.

But these days, I'm living in the middle of everything as soon as I walk out of my front door.  And since I like to always feel my best (and feeling my best means looking my best), even when I was cozied down inside, the couple times I needed to escort my doggie outside for a tinkle, I quickly transformed my house wear into an ensemble that was more than doable for a quick outing.

From staying in to stepping out, all I needed was a crisp business shirt and earrings.  Nothing more.

A pair of gypsy pants, an old business shirt and my comfy little bra top I always wear to bed.  Coming together, it made the best outfit for a me-time day.

gypsy pants: AllSaints / mens shirt: PINK / bra top: Free People / earrings: Karla Deras for Roman Luxe

These absolutely gorgeous earrings I'm wearing by Karla for Roman Luxe were a gift from my mother for Christmas.  I love Karla Deras's blog, Karla's Closet and I equally adore her collaboration of jewelry with Roman Luxe.  That girl is on point!!  And her jewelry designs are just as incredible.

As casual of a day it was, this was actually the first time I wore them.

And while inside, I kept it even more simple.

For the record, I didn't wear my earrings inside but kept them on for the shoot cus I'm fancy like that.

I also took some photos of things that have been taking up my idle attention lately:

our Stendig calendar newly hung in our living room....  Some mags and my favorite interior decorating book, Domino...   And my artsy husband put our kitchen chalkboard to use that morning.  Not for groceries.  It's been raining lately so of course he felt poetic.  As he does :)

The day was also spent avoiding dealing with my not so Tiny Closet.  Ugghhhh :(  But I've got some ideas that I'm excited to share that may alleviate the stress...

More on that later!
