Summer In a Flash

Wednesday was super sunny...as per usual.  I love that I can say that now.  Ahhh.
Anyway though, yesterday was hottt, actually and I wasn't really prepared for that type of warmth.

Preparing to meet Theo in the Arts District, I rummaged through a bag of clothing I've been putting together to donate to Goodwill and pulled out this old polka dotted silk crepe skirt.

Decided to wear it as a halter dress.

In 10 mins, I had sewn a grosgrain ribbon to each end of the skirt opening, threw on my ultra comfy, casual lace bustier and stowed my booties away in my bag for later.

I was ready to go out!

So, yesterday was a reality check for me.  I realize I am definitely not as prepared as I thought for the upcoming Summer months... Looks like I'm finally going to have to go...

shopping!!!

And y'all know I don't shop a lot.  I actually don't even remember the last time I went shopping for new clothes... I definitely like to play out the longevity and see the potential in the clothing I already have - hence the Tiny Closet.  But don't get me wrong, I love to shop.  In fact, I love it way more than I should, it's an absolutely delicious past time.  So... with this new climate and all...  I think it's time.

Don't you agree?

Gone Golfin'

On Sunday, Theo decided to change it up and take me to our neighborhood driving range.  It was a first for me and I fumbled enthusiastically the entire time.  Older men (swinging like pros no doubt) looked over at me in amusement as I repeatedly swung at the air and hit grass.  Or maybe they were smiling at my questionable attempt to wear a dress over wide leg jeans...

I wore this dress much better here.  And even though I've had this jacket for years a Tiny Closet favorite, I can't believe I've never worn it in a post!
This jacket by Free People is still adorable to me.  But I guess a big studded heart on the back of any denim jacket would give a total Drew-Barrymore-cute-girl-next-door-signature-80s-jacket look.  And lucky for me, I'm into that.
Anyway, the scenery was gorgeous and after I made Theo act out the classic golf trainer scene, you know the one where the sexy trainer physically shows the student how to swing (so corny!), Theo shook his head thoroughly embarassed and my afternoon was complete :)

Thanks for stopping by!

The Duster Revisited

So as you may already know, I collected a lot of dusters during my recent travels.  You can view the collection here as well as here.  And if you haven't yet grown tired of these tiresome things, you can view one of them again right here:
duster: Philippines / jacket: Free People / sandals: Seychelles / earrings: Forever21

Ah, but I changed it up this time can you tell???  I admit, while the ensemble was not thaaat creative off the bat, I am giving my fine-wine ideas more time to...age (wah wah) for later when I'm feelin it.  Ideally, I would have loved wearing a long black blazer - but the weather was bright and sunnyand I was on my way to a matinee so it wouldn't have fit the occasion.  I would have also loved wearing a pair of strappy stiletto sandals to juxtapose the shapeless gown up top buuut again, my stiletto sandals were just too "evening" for mid day.  So there you go - two main pieces I had to knock down a notch for the sake of weather and current events.  It cost my outfit a drop in the "wow" stock but it was still a wonderfully comfy, feminine outfit for hanging outside during the day and running errands, no?

Finally, I wore one of my dusters out in full bloom, whoo!  Next time, I'll be rocking this crazy thing in some sky-high heels looking like I'm about to take it to the club, just watch!
