Easy Breezy Style Mixing

Eclecticism in style has become a very common way to dress these days.  Mixing genres, traditions and cultures through clothing styles is always more interesting to me and frankly, since I'm an American anyway, it's more realistic.  Even though I love a good single-genre saturated look, eclectic is just more fun.

Last weekend, while shopping with my dad at one of my favorite Indian boutiques in the Fashion District, I spied the prettiest all white tunic.  Instead of wearing the proper size (traditional tunics aren't meant to be too fitted), I decided to try a slightly smaller size anyway and wear it as a lil mini dress.   With my petite stature, it's a challenge finding dresses that hit me at the right length.  This fitted tunic worn as a dress had a length too perfect to pass up.

Later in the week Theo and I went to Marina Del Ray.  Since I was in the mood to stroll indefinitely down the beach, I decided to mix my delicate hand-embroydered linen dress with my newest pair of quintessential Cali high tops.   A subtle eclectic style mix!

And with white on white high tops *sigh*... aint they fresh?
You know how your girl feels about white.

My trusty ultra light weight windbreaker was perfectly draped and slouchy enough to top of this simple beach-strolling ensemble.  And it was definitely windy that day.

I've actually had this coat for years and for some reason it doesn't tend to show up in my photos.  But I wear this out!  I'll have to be more mindful of keeping this on when snapping pics of my outfits because this, ladies, is a fabulous staple.

It's not normal that I wear an outfit made up of mostly new items(!!) so I'm excited to begin weaving them into my Tiny Closet keepers.

Keep visiting for more style mixing!

Red, White & Stripes

Every Sunday, a farmer's market comes to our neighborhood, and sets up a block away from our home.  We've missed it every time, mainly due to the fact that we're still unpacking boxes but this time, it was a date.  And I wore red lipstick :)

I love this nautical number from StyleMint.  Love it!  I am actually working on sewing several more myself of the same design just because these little dress/tunics are so versatile.  And mama likes versatile.

And speaking of versatile, I wore this same outfit golfing months ago here....  Instead of the red lips, I wore red Tom's and an awesome cult denim jacket.

Over The Knees and Through The Streets

Wanna know how many pairs of gray suede shoes I have?  Six.  I have six!  Ridiculous isn't it?  Six pairs of the same color, in the same material shoes...  I'll just say what we're all thinking - I'm weird/obsessed.

But when I like something, I keep it around and I get it some friends to play with.  These boots were my first of the collection.  Sadly, they're nearing their last years.

I love these over the knee boots so much I just couldn't see wearing pants with them today.  Heehee!  How perfect that the weather permitted...sort of :)

Thank you, Dolce Vita for supplying my habit each season with something gray and suede.
My Tiny Closet loves you.
