June Gloom

A few blocks of abandoned streets in downtown L.A....  I realize serve for me ample traipsing space for great lighting, backdrops and peace and quiet to play with shooting styles.
Well, eerie quiet but peace and space nonetheless.

Who would've thought Skid Row would be a photo shoot playground?

Channeling the cool of Macklemore, and the comfort of Eileen Fischer. I was completely cozy and warm in this oversize cocoon sweater, which I wear with everything, my favorite slouchy, long sleeve double knit and my mini cutoff skirt.  C'est parfait, non?  Please excuse me, but when I feel this comfy and effortlessly cool, I can't help but speak French :)

Wearing such soft layers up top, raises my tolerance level considerably for wearing sky high heels that were slightly less than comfortable,
which, for this outfit, heels were really quite necessary I feel.

Now that I've embraced the "June Gloom" (an L.A. native clued me in on the consistent gloomy weather that sets in during only the month of June), I'm settling on breaking out my jackets and sweaters again... and pairing them with skimpier, Summer items.  Yay!  A Tiny Closet specialty.

Keep visiting for more June Gloom ensembles!

Warm & Rugged...In Stilettos

Last week it got pretty cold... and just when I was starting to think about swim suits.  Oh well.  So I pulled out my trusty sweaters again for one last round and then had a fun idea to wear something totally different and surprising on the bottom.  The bottom as in, my feet.

With a tunic-length sweater and my favorite drop-crotch jeans, instead of following suit with my normal brogues or oxfords, I opted for heels.  And not just any heel, I wanted something
a bit outrageous and out of place.

Of course, with all this talk of comfort, these sandal stilettos definitely make the ensemble less...mobile.  So I decided to make it a dinner and a movie outfit.  Casual date night evening street wear.  Not too much walking, mostly sitting, totally cool.

I'm warm, a bit rugged and I'm still in stilettos, ladies.

Happy Monday!

Oh and P.S., I am toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooootally not.pregnant.at.all.the.end.
But good guess...I guess.

Vintage Sweaters

Over the Summer, when I was coming across so many awesome thrift and consignment stores, I began collecting vintage sweaters.
Some that I came across were so awful I couldn't really deny them (and I do intend to wear them for giggles...) but there were a couple sweaters I picked up that were kinda cute -
you know, they toed that Cosby chic line.   Like, if I wore them, my snarky girlfriends would say, "uh, nice sweater..." but we'd both know I looked cool :)

Like this one:

Or this one:

denim: Benetton / shoes: CMG

So, they're fun and cozy, right?  And if I want to tone down their dated patterns, I like wrapping them in a tailored leather jacket, like this graphite jacket from Muubuu!
Makes them more modern and even cuter!

And this 3/4 length sleeve bomber from Ever:

I've been meaning to share these oxford-like flats.  From the moment I saw these Bass shoes at Nordstrom, I had to have them.  The handsome styling, the suede bows, and the keyhole opening,
I'm still in love!!  Definitely a Tiny Closet staple.

Election night was intense!  I was on the edge of my seat all evening.
Hope you enjoyed!
